SUDDENLY SOUTHERN
Christmas 2005
(I know this is out of order!)

Christmas parades are a tradition down here, and Max's first Scout activity was to march in the Christmas parade, and keeeep on goin' to their campsite. His troop camps out once a month, all year long! He really loves it.
I had to put these next two pics in just for Minnesota people. There, in the parade, big as life - was Mr. Pig!! You know, from the Piggly Wiggly. I can't believe Katie wouldn't have her picture taken with Mr. Pig! I guess there's no point in bringing her to Disney World, huh?

How does Santa show get there for YOUR Christmas parades?
Mom and Dad came from Minnesota later that day for a visit. We had an early Christmas with them before they continued on to Arizona, where they spend the winter.

We drove to Minnesota for Christmas. It was 0 degrees when we got to the cabin, with a -20 wind chill that night. Reality check!!!
The next day (it warmed up all the way to 10!!), Max and his cousins went snowboarding at a ski hill nearby. This is where I found Max the next morning. Broken child. My sister claims he got 'soft' in the south!
He's out of the cast now, less than 7 weeks later. Amazing, considering his humerus was broken right in two. OUCH. But you can't stop Christmas over a broken arm! Even if you DO have to sleep in a chair.
We had a great view from the cabin - a little different than the view we get all summer, though! (yes, those are ice fishing houses!)

We had another Christmas at my sister's house in Lakeville. My brother-in-law Doug is on the couch with the girls. He has one of the best senses of humor - totally dry!! He's a wakeboard enthusiast like John and Max. That's my sister, Kresson, getting a hug from her daughter, Taylor. Taylor is only 6 weeks younger than Katie, and the two cousins are really good friends =) My nephew, Justin, graduates high school this year. HOW did that happen???
And another Christmas at John's mom's house in Minnetonka.

More pictures soon!! Can you hardly wait.
