SUDDENLY SOUTHERN
(but spending time in Minnesota)

Katie missed out on having a friend of mine for a teacher during the 2nd semester of 8th grade, so Karen gave her a lesson by teaching her how to sew some fresh curtains for the kitchen at the cottage. She's a natural (and now wants a sewing machine... )
I just had to throw this in here:

If you've ever wondered what Iowa looks like, this is pretty much it. Corn, corn and more... corn.
Jack and Brian - our frequent breakfast guests at the cabin (two of Katie and Max's cousins)

The goal at Lake Vermilion in MN this summer was to get 5 men up on skis behind our boat. Never let it be said that John is not up for a challenge! And my sister (girl power!) was the driver!

Sometimes it doesn't work so well the first try.
But eventually (I think it was the 3rd try), success!

We have a great view at night from our cabin...
And some interesting neighbors - Canadian geese who moved in with some
ducks!
Katie got to spend some time with her goofballs from MN...
